Samsung Launches Creative Agency Review for Europe

By Erik Oster

Following the explosive launch of the now-recalled Galaxy Note 7, Samsung has launched a review seeking a lead European agency to lead work throughout the region. AdAge reports that the search will be led by Samsung’s CMO for Europe, David Lowes.

Industry executives told the publication the review is an attempt to “achieve greater creative consistency across the brand” on the continent.

Samsung’s current global agency roster includes W+K, Leo Burnett, BBH, 72andSunny, CHI & Partners and Cheil Worldwide, which was founded as a Samsung in-house agency and is still partially owned by Samsung.

Recent campaigns for Samsung include W+K Portland’s “Busy, Busy, Busy” effort for the Galaxy Note 7 starring Christoph Waltz, Leo Burnett Chicago and Leo Burnett Sydney’s Olympic “The Anthem” spot and BBH London’s “Samsung Bedtime VR Stories” back in May.

It’s not clear at this time which agencies are involved.
