Saatchi & Saatchi New York Names New President, Consolidates Offices

By Patrick Coffee

The agency has no official comment at this time, but we learned today that the New York office of Saatchi & Saatchi has named a new president amidst a round of consolidation in its physical headquarters at 375 Hudson Street.

EVP and global director Andrea Diquez has been promoted to the position of president while other executives–chief among them CEO Brent Smart, who replaced Durk Barnhill in 2013 after only 14 months–will retain their titles moving forward.

Diquez joined Saatchi’s New York office in the EVP role just over two years ago after serving as CEO of the organization’s Mexico office. Earlier in her career, she spent several years with the Manhattan location in the roles of management supervisor, regional account director and regional management director. She does not appear to be replacing any departing executive as Saatchi & Saatchi New York has not made any announcements regarding its presidency in some time.

The larger S&S organization has made some other executive changes in recent months. In July, the company named new presidents for Saatchi & Saatchi X (Jessica Hendrix) and Team One (Julie Michael) in addition to hiring a new CMO (Jeff Geisler) and promoting Carol Miller-Repetto to COO on the Procter & Gamble business. Later in the summer, the agency lost CTO Chris Kief to 360i and promoted Justin Billingsly to the role of worldwide COO in London.

The shop is also making changes to its physical space. After closing its music operations earlier this month, Saatchi & Saatchi has consolidated its internal departments, with production, creative, accounts and strategy now located on the same floor at Hudson Street.

We hear that the move is part of larger efforts to streamline operations and that Saatchi will be renting out the other floors it once occupied, but again the agency has no official comment at the moment.
