Saatchi New York, VocaliD Find a Voice that Fits for Goldivox

By Erik Oster

Saatchi and Saatchi New York launched a new campaign for VocaliD, “an innovative company…pioneering the customization of digital voices for people with speech impairments,” founded in 2014 by speech scientist Rupal Patelcalling on viewers to share their voices with the voiceless with the animated spot “Voice of Goldivox.”

As you might have guessed, the spot is a take on the familiar Goldilocks story. It follows a girl who tires of her computerized vocal device and pines for a voice more reflective of who she is. She travels the world in a hot air balloon searching for such a voice but finds people whose voices are too deep or too old to suit her. Finally, as she’s all but given up, a girl around her own age asks her what’s wrong and Goldivox finally finds the voice she’s been looking for.

It’s a cute approach to introduce VocaliD’s services and inform viewers that they could help people like Goldivox. The spot concludes by letting viewers know that their voice “has the power to tell a story and the power to help others tell theirs” by recording their voice to the Human Voicebank platform. In addition to the above spot, there’s also an interactive, voice-activated version which can be viewed on Google Chrome and Android devices at https://voiceofgoldivox.com/

“Goldivox is one part fairy tale we all know and one part a story that many of us never imagined,” said Patel. “As we understand Goldivox’s need to find a voice that fits, we discover that each one of us has the power to share voice. The interactive read along invites you to empathize, act upon and cheer on Golidvox all in one! It’s so exciting to have the creative genius of the Saatchi team bring our vision to life through Goldivox’s voice!”
