S4 Capital’s MediaMonks Opens London Office Right Across the Street from WPP’s AKQA

AKQA has a new neighbor.

MediaMonks is moving to a new London office across the street from the WPP agency, less than eight months since being merging with S4 Capital, the holding group Sir Martin Sorrell formed after his departure from WPP.

“Delighted to be in such exalted company,” Sorrell told AgencySpy. “Believe Deloitte Digital may also be joining us all in close proximity soon.” Clerkenwell is a popular part of town, then.

MediaMonks London’s move from Mayfair involves making room for an expanded team, as it anticipates growing its London team by a third this year.

“Our change of address is bittersweet, but much needed. While we’re leaving MediaMonks’ first international office, we’re gaining 5,000 square feet to fit our ever-growing number or Monks,” MediaMonks managing director Martin Verdult said in a statement. “Once we’ve finished giving the new digs our distinctive touch we will be sure to throw a MediaMonks-style opening party.”

Since opening its London office around a decade ago, MediaMonks U.K. clients have included Google, Mondelez, Shell, GSMA and Slimming World.

You may also recall that parent company S4 recently opened in India with offices in both Mumbai and Bangalore and former Ogilvy south India president Poran Malani heading operations. Sorrell has always been bullish on the subcontinent.

On the business front, MediaMonks most recent bounty is a deal to produce content for Avon around the world.
