RKCR/Y&R Embarks on ‘Adventures in Surprises’ for Marks & Spencer

RKCR/Y&R launched a holiday extension of its “Adventures In…” campaign for Marks & Spencer with “Adventures in Surprises.”

Like its predecessors, “Adventures In Surprises” highlights visually¬†appealing presentations of food items available at Marks & Spencer. In this case, naturally, holiday offerings such as an adorable penguin cake, chocolate bonbons and what appear to be candy mushrooms sprouting from another cake. The elaborate presentation of the items sparks the imagination and, probably more to the point, the appetite. RKCR/Y&R will release six videos for the brand in all during the holiday season, concluding on December 29. There’s also a “The Making of the Penguin Party Cake” for those¬†interested in giving it a try for themselves.

The idea behind the effort was to “make Christmas magical,” creative director Chris Hodgkiss of RKCR/Y&R told AdFreak, while “showing the breadth and wonder of the food on offer at M&S Foodhalls.”

“Customers’ festive culinary experience is no longer focused on just the Christmas Day feast,” added Marks & Spencer head of brand and marketing Nathan Ansell. “‘Adventures in Christmas’ reflects our desire to inject more gourmet inspiration into the season’s calendar.”¬†
