R/GA hired David Corns as managing director for its San Francisco office.
In the role, Corns will work closely with a leadership team that includes executive creative director Noel Franus, who joined R/GA earlier this year, managing director of strategy Kelli Robertson, executive production director Ellie Hardy and executive technology director John Tubert.
He joins the agency from Venables Bell & Partners, where he spent over three and a half years and served as head of brand management and client services while leading the Audi and Chipotle accounts.
Earlier in his career, he spent nearly nine years with CP+B, most recently as vice president, director of product and brand innovation, before leaving to serve as primary brand, packaging, marketing and communications advisor for biotech startup Bond Pets.
“Dave is a natural leader, a professional whose experience leading global teams at creatively-driven companies has prepared him for all sides of what we do – from advertising and innovation, to brand management,” R/GA U.S. president Sean Lyons said in a statement. “I knew we needed to hire Dave once I met him. I look forward to watching him build on the success of R/GA San Francisco alongside the broader leadership team.”
Lyons, of course, will take over from founder and CEO Bob Greenberg on January 2.
