After mining the hipster music market and utilizing Cold Cave’s “Life Magazine” for an earlier holiday teaser, Butler, Shine, Stern and Partners reverts to the old-school by tapping perennially fun rapper Biz Markie as part of a new seasonal campaign for Radio Shack that promotes the various products on its shelf.
The familiar strains of Biz’s “Just a Friend” play in the background as he snaps away with his digital camera in a winter wonderland. The 15-second spot is just one of eight unveiled by the agency, who worked alongside Santa Monica prodco Stardust Studios. Another example below touts Sirius XM radio via some b-boy astronauts.
