Publicis announced it’s annual results today. Let’s just say that while they didn’t shit the bed, they also are getting their ass kicked by Omnicom.

The company failed to meet its forecast for underlying annual revenue. Publicis said its underlying revenue had risen 3.1 percent in 2007. They were shooting for 4 percent.

Meanwhile, Havas’ sales growth hit 7.1 percent in 2007 and 9.8 percent in the fourth quarter.

“Investors are sometimes wary of advertising groups like Publicis, which are cyclical and exposed to the United States, but they are delivering, as Omnicom did last week and probably will do at the end of the month,” said a Paris-based analyst, who asked not to be named in Reuters this morning.

Publicis said Saatchi both had a good year with account such as JC Penney, Wendy’s and SAB Miller. Leo Burnett, as we all know, is killing it outside the US, but the the lose of Cadillac shook their bottom line.

All hail Omnicom.
