Proximity Appoints Global Chief Innovation Officer

Proximity Worldwide promoted Troy Hitch to global chief innovation officer, effective immediately.

Hitch formerly served as chief innovation officer at Barefoot Proximity. In his new role, he will serve as a member of Proximity’s global leadership team and report to global president Mike Dodds. Hitch will work across Proximity’s global network of 24 offices to accelerate digital development, advance tech and innovation partnerships and optimize innovation investment, while remaining based in Cincinnati.

“Troy is an inspiring leader, and will be instrumental in driving transformational growth and bringing to life our shared vision for the Proximity network,” Proximity Worldwide global CEO Doug Worple said in a statement. “His new role is an investment in ensuring that Proximity clients have access to the latest in technology and innovation and a full spectrum of services at both a global and local level.”

Before his most recent stint with Barefoot Proximity as chief innovation officer, beginning in 2014, Hitch spent over a year as senior vice president, executive creative director for Energy BBDO, where he led work for clients including Lay’s, Bud Light, Ziploc, Quaker, Rosetta Stone and 5 Gum. Prior to that he spent over two and a half years as executive vice president, executive creative director, following over six years as CEO for Big Fat Brain, the experiential agency he founded in 2004.
