Pitch Appoints Rachel Spiegelman as CEO

Pitch named president Rachel Spiegelman as its new CEO, effective as of the beginning of 2017. She succeeds co-founder Jon Banks, who will move into a position as the agency’s first chairman.

“I’m so excited to hand over the keys to the kingdom,” Banks said in a statement. “Rachel has worked tirelessly since we opened Pitch eight years ago and she’s the absolute best person to lead our next chapter. Clients love her and she’s an amazing marketer with strategic and creative chops able to get the best out of everyone. That’s an ideal skill set for a CEO.”

Spiegelman arrived at Pitch as an account lead in January of 2008 and served as senior vice president, marketing before being named president in April of 2013. She has been instrumental in the agency’s developement as it has grown its client roster to include Burger King, Quicken Loans, Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, Public Storage, Waldorf Astoria and Pepsi, for which the agency created the “Soda Sommelier” launch spot for its 1893 premium soda brand. Before joining Pitch, Spiegelman spent a year and a half as director, theatrical marketing at Fox. She was named to AdAge’s 2016 “40 Under 40” list and Business Insider’s “30 Most Creative Women in Advertising.” Her golden retriever, Frankie, serves as Pitch’s mascot.

“I want Pitch to continue to be the agency clients tap to solve real business problems,” Spiegelman said. “We’re going to keep moving to reach our goal of doubling revenue by 2020 while maintaining the culture and entrepreneurial spirit of Pitch.”
