Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is the star of a recent State Farm ad, where he admitted to spokescharacter Jake that he is a bath bomb fan. But it’s Mahomes’ costar in that commercial that has generated interest beyond the spot.
As the “Bath Bomb” ad nears the end, an equipment manager named Jeff, toting a tenor saxophone, comes in and asks “who’s ready for their jazz bath?” The character is ushered out before he can toot a note, but interest in the mulleted saxophonist and his bathtime serenade extended into social media.
The new @PatrickMahomes bath bomb/jazz bath @StateFarm commercial is legitimately hilarious. My wife said, “Well I want a jazz bath! That sounds amazing!” 🤣🤣

Many posted that they wanted a jazz bath of their own, so State Farm and its creative agency partner, TMA (The Marketing Arm) came up with an idea to extend this excitement by producing a special CD titled “Jazz Bath: The Bath Bomb Sessions.” The CD was available to consumers for free while supplies last at a special web page, but those discs went quickly.
The contents of the CD, which features six original smooth jazz songs, are currently streaming on Spotify. There’s even a specially produced online video to help promote the recording, which includes a Jazz Bath Hotline (1-866-JAZZ-BATH).
In the tongue-in-cheek video, it seems that Jeff has switched his instrument of choice to an alto saxophone, which is the featured solo horn of the mellow tunes with titles like “Wash Your Worries Down the Drain” and “Tubby Time.” And Jeff turns out to be a suave talker to get bathers in a relaxing mood, just as if it were the late ’80s and you wanted to slip into some soapy water with a buttery chardonnay.
TMA created the video and worked with a team of professional musicians to compose and produce the songs.
