Our Dream of Chuck Woolery Joining the Ad Biz is Now a Reality

By Kiran Aditham

Finally, game show legend and the man behind the 2 and 2’s Chuck Woolery is now a member of the advertising industry. Yep, you heard us correctly. Woolery has joined up with Detroit-based, mid-sized agency Western Creative, Inc. to serve as “senior citizen marketing specialist” (man, we really thought Alan Thicke and Robert Wagner had this thing sewed up).  In a statement, Western’s creative chairman Mark Young says of his new hire, who was of course a former host of Wheel of Fortune, The Dating Game, Love Connection, etc., “Woolery will bring his considerable experience with the rapidly expanding senior market to bear for the agency, providing important insight on how to better market products and services to this crucial demographic.”

Woolery does have some history with Young as the pair co-own a line of recreation and outdoor-focused products that’s targeted at the Boomers and seniors  called Chuck Woolery Signature Products, which includes fishing lures and and glare-reducing glasses. Here’s Western Creative’s portfolio if you’d like and we say good luck, Chuck.
