It’s not too often that we hear of a single creative retaining an account once held by his former agency, but that seems to be the case with Brian Tierney. A former CD/copywriter at Crispin and Fallon, Tierney reached out to us to show off his new holiday campaign for GPS company Garmin, a client that he’s been doing 1-2 projects yearly for since being let go by Fallon in 2007. One of the 30-second spots is above and the other can be viewed here.
Tierney–who calls himself a “one-man agency doing the level of work” of “a big bloated one”, did a Garmin Super Bowl spot last year and still freelances in between–explains the continuing relationship with the brand:
“I was the group creative director on Garmin at Fallon and did several spots there for them. I have a great relationship with them, and when I left, they wanted to continue to work together–of course I did too. They’re really a great client and we work together really well. It’s all worked out really well for me. I basically play writer, art director, creative director, account guy and even project manager on my end. I bring in a couple freelance producers and we work in a small, tight team with the Garmin guys. I get a chance to produce national work for a great brand, and they avoid the big agency fees.”
Full credits for the holiday work after the jump.
