Omnicom’s Javelin Announces New Leadership Structure

By Patrick Coffee

Omnicom’s Javelin Marketing Group, or “the agency of the customer,” has made changes atop its leadership structure.

CEO Pam Larrick will be leaving her position after more than five years to become chairman, with current president Mike McCartin replacing her atop the customer marketing shop. SVP and global client service lead Tina Posey will also be taking on McCartin’s former role as president.

Larrick joined Javelin as CEO in 2010 after holding top executive positions at other DM agencies MRM//McCann, FCBi and Ogilvy Direct. In her LinkedIn bio, she writes that she chose to assume leadership of Javelin in order to make better use of its “deep analytics bench, great client relationships, and commitment to creativity.”

mike mccartinMcCartin served as VP of interactive at RAPP before helping to launch Javelin in 2003 as its EVP and chief operating officer; he was promoted to president in 2009.

Posey was also a member of the team that started Javelin, and she has held various roles there in addition to serving as SVP and group account director at RAPP.

We last heard from the company nearly two years ago when Marc Garbarini became its executive creative director. Garbarini, who previously held creative leadership roles at Publicis’ ROAR and Digitas, left in January to go freelance and does not appear to have been replaced; Todd Winters has been GCD at the agency since 2013.

The reasons for today’s shift are unclear at the moment.
