Omnicom kicks some ass this quarter

By OnDownLow

Omnicom Group, the world’s largest marketing services company, has posted a 14 per cent lift in net income to $208.7 million — but is hedging its bets for the rest of the year — remaining “cautious” about the next few months.

Omnicom — the largest of the holding companies (depending on daily currency fluctuations, they battle with WPP for the #1 title) and the controllers of destiny for a number of ad shops including DDB, BBDO, and media agencies like PHD & OMD — benefited from strong growth in international revenue, up 18.3 per cent to $1.53 billion.

John Wren, Chairman of Omnicom, has to be a happy camper as it is known that he asks his companies to each get a 10% uptick each quarter — so I imagine there might be a few extra bon mots for a few executives in the near future. Cannes should be fun for them all this year…
