Ogilvy New York Totally Visualizes the IBM Cloud, Man

By Erik Oster

Ogilvy New York launched a campaign for IBM in which it imagines what a visual representation of the IBM Cloud might look like.

Directed by Park Pictures’ Terri Timely, the 60-second “Designed for Data” presents a stylized visualization of the IBM Cloud as a voiceover intones that “Everybody knows that business today is built on data” and that “the IBM Cloud is uniquely designed for all kinds of data.”

As the camera pans out, with all the action captured in a single take, the visualization of the IBM Cloud turns to representations of these different types of data, from weather data to “health-related data points” and social info.

Similarly-minded 30-second ads shine a spotlight on dark data, new business models and business transformation. The eye-catching visuals help make the ads, and the points they make about how the IBM Cloud can help businesses, memorable.
