Matos joins the team shortly after SC Johnson consolidated its global creative and commerce business with WPP’s Ogilvy & VMLY&R Commerce in late 2022, with Omnicom retaining the media business. Over the past decade, Ogilvy has developed notable initiatives and creative campaigns SC Johnson and its family of brands, including Glade and Pledge.

“Giant ideas, stunning work, culture-grabbing moments. These are defining characteristics of Ogilvy and Adriano’s creative approach, and there’s no better place for the two to come together than within this WPP team,” said Joe Sciarrotta, deputy global chief creative officer in a statement.

Matos was most recently responsible for leading McDonald’s global business with Publicis Groupe and Leo Burnett. Prior to Leo Burnett, he served as chief creative officer of Grey Brazil, where he was credited with transforming the agency. He has been recognized with numerous industry honors from Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, Clio Awards, Asia Spikes and the Effie Awards, among others.

“I am deeply passionate about creativity and the art of building purposeful brands. I am incredibly thrilled to be joining WPP, a company dedicated to creative transformation, and partnering with Liz, Joe and the esteemed team at Ogilvy, and collaboration with Manuel Bordé and VMLY&R Commerce,” said Matos in a statement. “Together, we will collaborate on creating world-class work for SC Johnson, a brand that has a profound positive impact on society. I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity.”

He also joins Ogilvy as the agency has won business including Verizon’s b-to-b marketing efforts and H&R Block.
