Obama’s Olympic Ads

By SpyWriter

It’s being reported that Barack Obama’s camp has asked NBC Universal about advertising packages during the Olympics. Packages that include $500,000, $2 million and $4 million packages of ads. Adage believes, “It’s not only a sign that the Obama camp has faith it can continue its stellar fundraising achievements but a signal that a widening field of battleground states has the candidate contemplating national broadcast buys.”

And now that Obama has decided to forgo the use of public funds and can raise the money to run these expensive ads, it’s seems more likely that he’ll take these types of opportunities. These ads will certainly reach many different audiences and key demographics in areas where voters are still straddling the fence. The thing is, the summer olympics are in August. Will these ads run in August, three months before the presidental election have a lasting enough impression? I think the symbolance semblance of the olympics and the escalated since of pride that most Americans feel around that time will help to boost his message of unification. I think it’s safe to say that his ads will only speak more to that American pride and American dream. Just look at his first ad. He’s got a pretty winning formula already.
