Apparently the Chicago Advertising Federation believes the only good reason to come to Chicago in February is for their annual Career Day. Whatever. If you are already in Chicago and would like to attend, the event takes place this Friday, February 26th at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel. Career Day aims to mesh college students with some of the area’s top advertising talent, in the hopes of providing students with industry insight, and possibly a few job prospects (although the event is not technically a career fair).
Companies:
— DDB Chicago
— Energy BBDO
— Euro RSCG Chicago
— Ogilvy
— Cramer-Krasselt
— Creative Circle
— Blue Chip
— Commonground Marketing Communications
— Discovery Communications
— Mediamark Research & Intelligence
— MTV/ Vh1
— Novus Media
— Spark Communications
— Starcom MediaVest Group
— Tukaiz, LLC
The event will also feature speakers from Draftfcb, TribalDDB, and The Chicago Advertising Federation itself. A quick search of TribalDDB’s “Careers” page turned up with “0” results-for any jobs within the company-not just those those for entry-level ad pros.
If you’re hoping to land a spot at Cramer Krasselt, Commonground Marketing, Novus, Tukaiz, LLC, Spark Communications or Mediamark, you shouldn’t hold your breath, either. None of the firms currently have entry-level jobs posted online. The company with the most openings? Blue Chip Casino, which counts Laundry Attendant, Bartender, and Line Cook amongst the entry-level roles it is looking to fill. Is it too late to change majors?
