New Karmarama CCO Appoints Adam Kean as ECD

By Erik Oster

Karmarama chief creative officer Nik Studzinksi has made his first major hire since joining the agency from Droga5 this spring, appointing Adam Kean as executive creative director.

Kean began his career at Saatchi & Saatchi in 1987, rising to joint executive creative director by 1995. He worked briefly as a creative director with W+K and in 2002 joined Publicis London, rising to the role of executive creative director in 2008. In 2012, Kean left Publicis following a change in management at the agency, taking a creative director position with CP+B London the next year, where he contributed to the agency’s Milka account in Europe, one of the agency’s larger clients before it left for W+K Amsterdam.

Former Fallon and AMV BBDO creative Adam Whitaker is also joining the agency as a creative director.

“In Adam and Adam I have two of the most awarded, experienced and nicest Adams in the industry,” Studzinski told More About Advertising. “They’re going to brilliantly complement the breadth of skills and talent we already have here at Karmarama.”

“Nik’s great and an old friend, and I’m very excited about working with him again at such a progressive agency as Karmarama,” added Kean. “I’ve known Adam a while, though we’ve never worked at the same place, but if you can judge a man on his reggae mix CDs, it should be an amazing experience.”
