DDB New York is celebrating a wild account win this week.

The National Wildlife Federation selected the shop as its new agency of record, tasking DDB with helping to raise awareness for the organization and elevate its 84-year-old brand.

“The National Wildlife Federation is making it possible for every person to make a difference for wildlife, clean drinking water and our cherished landscapes,” National Wildlife Federation chief innovation and growth officer Dawn Rodney said in a statement. “We are excited to form this partnership with DDB, their powerful strategic and creative storytelling is what we need to unite people across the country to create a more sustainable future for both people and wildlife.”

The appointment comes at a moment of urgency for the organization as climate change and other factors contribute to an increased risk of extinction for many species. In the U.S., there is 60% less wildlife than there was 40 years ago and one-third of wildlife species are at an increased risk of extinction, according to the statement.

The National Wildlife Federation kicked off its latest series of brand activations on Aug. 31 in partnership with AMC Network’s Planet Earth: A Celebration, a special which combined sequences from Planet Earth 2 and Blue Planet 2 with rearrangements of original scores and new narration.
