Morgan Thoryk has left TBWA\Media Arts Lab to join boutique shop Good Ear Music Supervision (GEMS) as music supervisor and partner.

Thoryk joined TBWA\MAL in 2015 and served as senior music supervisor for a variety of global campaigns. She previously was a music supervisor with mcgarrybowen Chicago and her experience also includes a stint as licensing director at Capitol Records.

GEMS was founded in 2011 by another former TBWA\MAL music supervisor, Andrew Kahn.

“I’m over the moon about Morgan joining the team,” Kahn said in a statement. “Combining our skills and dedication will allow GEMS to grow and continue to push the use of good music in ads.”

GEMS has worked with such artists as Nina Simone, Beyonce, Chance The Rapper, Bob Dylan, Janelle Monae and Dolly Parton. The shop recently worked on Toyota’s “Good Odds” spot, deemed the “most effective” of the Super Bowl this year by Unruly, as well as Intuit’s “A Giant Story” Super Bowl campaign and the latest in a string of five “Meet Me In The Gap” spots.
