Montague, Keller Among Those Judging This Year’s Big Ad Gig

By Kiran Aditham

If 30 days of paid freelance work (with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time job) seems appetizing, Atmosphere BBDO and others are dishing out five agency creative opportunities via the Big Ad Gig.

While the call for entries must include the usual portfolio, resume and a 60-second or less YouTube video, this year’s installment requires those who submit to include the entire 10-second video from any one of the judges–Atmosphere Proximity chairman/CCO Andreas Combuechen, Crispin’s Andrew Keller, Ty Montague, Ogilvy worldwide CD Tham Khai Meng and Chiat LA creative director Jimmy Smith–and complete their story.

Seems like a hell of a lot of pressure, but from what the folks behind it are telling us, all the finalists from last year secured full-time jobs. You have until August 23 to enter and the judges will whittle the competition down to eight, then pick five winners from the bunch during a live event on September 30 at the New York Times building. There, presentations on which Keller, Montague and crew will base their decisions will be centered around a brief for an Ad Council project.
