Mistress Shares ‘Missed Connection’ for VH1’s Hindsight

By Erik Oster

Los Angeles-based creative agency Mistress teamed up with VH1 for “Missed Connection,” a branded content video promoting the new series Hindsight, in which Mistress and crew help rectify a “missed connection” on Craigslist.

The premise echoes that of the VH1’s new show, which premieres January 7th, in which is about “what happens when a woman is given a chance to go back in time and change her life.” In the video, the crew tracks down a woman’s “missed connection” and give her a second chance at scoring a date. But the way in which they do that is far from straightforward, and you can check it out for yourself above.

“At VH1 we are always trying to do things differently,” explained Caralene Robinson, VH1’s SVP Marketing & Creative. “To celebrate our new scripted series Hindsight, we are bringing to life a universal insight about second chances and giving someone a real-life opportunity to do things differently. In Hindsight our lead character Becca is given a chance to go back to the 90s and do it all over again. In “Missed Connections”,  we gave Daniela that second chance as well and we couldn’t be more excited for her.”

“Missed Connection” isn’t the first time VH1 has used an unorthodox approach in promoting a new show. To promote the show Dating Naked, VH1 teamed up with Mistress for the branded video “Dancing Naked,” which went on to score over two million views on YouTube. VH1 hopes that “Missed Connection” can achieve similar viral success promoting its latest series.
