Miami Ad School Students Tackle Gender Pay Gap, Write on Money

By Erik Oster

Miami Ad School art director Carey Feng and copywriter Lorran Schoechet decided to tackle the issue of the gender pay gap with a visual representation of the 80 cents women make on average for every dollar men make.

What more literal way to do so than a demarcation on the currency itself?

Feng and Schechet decided to draw a line in permanent market on the 80% line of dollar bills, raising awareness of the issue and driving traffic to their website.

Once there visitors are met with a brief explanation of the issue, encouraged to join them in drawing the visual representation of the pay gap on dollar bills and sign a petition calling on Congress to enact legislation making equal pay mandatory for all employers.
