Merkens Latest to Leave Moxie

By Kiran Aditham

It seems the hits keep on coming at Moxie Interactive’s Atlanta hub. In a year that’s included purported layoffs, the loss of a senior creative as well as its account planning/research EVP, we’ve now received word that social strategy head Stephan Merkens has split after less than 18 months (and yes, he has, for a group director gig in the ATL at what appears to be a sports marketing agency called WCG).

We received this tip just a few minutes ago that reads more like a distress signal, in turn leaving our eyebrows raised while offering some take on life at Moxie in the wake of Merkens’s departure: “..now there is no head of Social there or for this Verizon team. There are more teams without leaders than with… a recent team lead was to be hired for Direct Marketing, yet this person backed out at the last minute. We’re sinking…Help, it’s a mess.”

Wow, well, the Moxie has keep has been less than receptive to our inquiries, to say the least, but we’ll let you know if and when we find out more. Someone get Ripley on the horn in the meantime.
