MCM Worldwide Sends Global Media Account to Spark Foundry

Luxury travel and lifestyle brand MCM Worldwide has selected Spark Foundry as its global media agency of record following a review.

Under the partnership, the Publicis Media agency will handle global strategy, content, digital buying and data and analytics for MCM across its U.S., EMEA and APAC markets.

“Winning this global assignment is incredibly exciting and satisfying,” Chris Boothe, Spark Foundry CEO and global brand president, said in a statement. “Being chosen to partner with a revolutionary luxury brand such as MCM truly demonstrates the power of our talent and the trust in our ability to provide solutions and deliver results that align with the client’s goals and strategic vision.”

According to Kantar Media, MCM spent $1.2 million on measured media in the U.S. in 2017 and $1 million during the first half of 2018.

A person close to the business said independent Boston-based media agency PGR Media is the incumbent. It is unclear if the agency competed to defend the account, or what other agencies participated in the review.

The win comes on the heels of Publicis merging agencies Spark Foundry and Blue 449 earlier this month, as the holding company continues its larger restructuring effort that recently saw the retiring of the 28-year-old Razorfish brand to create Publicis Sapient. While Blue 449 has been brought under the new Spark Foundry worldwide network, it maintains its name in the U.S., U.K. and France markets. The newly-combined network now boasts a client roster that includes Mondelez, Campbell’s, Marriott and Southwest Airlines.
