McCann New York Helps You Give Sarcastic Office Gifts With ‘The Co-Worker Collection’ for Office Depot

McCann New York launched an office-humor heavy holiday campaign for Office Depot, featuring gift collections for different kinds of (sometimes annoying) co-workers.

A 60-second spot outlines the kind of co-workers covered by Office Depot’s “The Co-worker Collection.” There’s the pen thief, for whom the “Stop stealing all my pens pens” makes the perfect gift, the guy who loudly listens to death metal, who could really use a pair of headphones. Oh, and hand sanitizer for the office germophobe, so he can stop worrying about shaking people’s hands. It’s a clever idea, and the stickers seen in the ad for the everyday items (such as “Keep your death metal to yourself headphones”) are actually available in-store, or even to print from home for online purchases, which is a nice touchers. The campaign manages to come across as ever so slightly subversive (or at least sarcastic) while still paying homage to the holidays. In addition to the 60-second spot above, there are a series of shorter spots for each of the specific collections.
