McCann and MGM National Harbor Hate Mondays (and Tuesdays and Wednesdays) Just as Much as You Do

By Patrick Coffee

We know today is Tuesday, but somehow it still feels like Monday. We blame Martin Sorrell and all the follow-up pieces we’ve been writing.

Anyway, MGM National Harbor is a popular resort attraction. And it has been running an “Every Day Is Monumental” campaign with creative by AOR McCann New York for a while now.

But it needs more of your well-spent betting dollars, hence this new wave of spots promoting all those lame days of the week that come between Sunday and Friday. As the website puts it, “Why do the weekends get all of the glory? Your weekday routine should be just as fun as your weekends.”

Meet Monday. He’s the same guy from that Apple iPod “Homework” ad, and he is NOT happy that you recognized him.

Tuesday isn’t really any better.

We were hoping for Wednesday Addams in this next one. Alas.

Kind of a substitute teacher theme going here, no?

Thursday is a bit more fun because he’s so fucking close to Friday. And the not-so secret is that you actually go out on Thursday, because you’re so done after work on Friday that you just crash HARD after two-and-a-half episodes of Wild Wild Country, which you’ll have to rewatch on Saturday afternoon anyway because you were too tired to really pay attention and that shit is intense. Unless you’re still single, and then everything is up in the air.

URGH.

Good thing this campaign didn’t include any morning-after characters, because those are gonna suck no matter which day we’re talking about.
