Marshawn Lynch Sells Skittles on EVINE Live for Olson Engage

By Erik Oster

Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch‘s love of Skittles is almost as well-known as his reluctance to speak with the media and the brand hasn’t shied away from featuring Lynch in its advertising. Agency Olson Engage tapped Lynch for a spot around a year ago to celebrate the brand’s NFL sponsorship and followed-up with a stunt this January. With the NFL season now on the horizon, Olson Engage once again crafted a stunt for Skittles featuring its biggest fan who also happens to be an NFL running back.

This time around, Lynch staked out some new territory: cable shopping network EVINE Live. Lynch appeared on the network to help sell cases of Skittles (36 packs) for the special price of $14.86. Before making the sales pitch, Lynch discussed his “intimate” love of Skittles, how he would leave a party where the candy wasn’t present and not date a girl who wasn’t a fan. The tongue-in-cheek appearance celebrates the brand’s second year as an NFL sponsor.

While the live television appearance may have had a limited audience, Olson and Skittles are hoping it has a second life online where it can reach more fans via channels such as YouTube.
