Liars & Thieves’ Documentary for HiBall Energy Got Picked Up by Amazon

A lot of ads these days get branded as branded documentaries, but not many can back up the claim with awards from film festivals and a deal with Amazon.

The Push, a feature-length  documentary San Francisco-based production company Liars & Thieves created for HiBall Energy telling the story of adaptive athlete Grant Korgan’s amazing South Pole trek managed both those distinctions.

After earning some 18 awards from film festivals since its 2018 debut, including winning recognition for Best Documentary at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Edmonton International Film Festival, Rhode Island International Film Festival and Saint Louis International Film Festival, the documentary was picked up for distribution by Amazon Prime.

“Our mantra of ‘Good Energy’ spotlights Grant’s journey that positivity is fueled by applied propulsion,” HiBall energy founder and The Push executive producer Todd Berardi said in a statement. “We had done a series of short films called the ‘Hiball profiles’ but this story was both so important and on brand that we decided to make it into a feature length film. I could not be prouder of the execution by Hiball Cinematographer, Brian Niles, and the impact and success so far of this amazing film.”

“For all the heroes represented in this film, it was an epic responsibility to tell a thoughtful and cohesive story,” added Liars & Thieves co-founder, director and producer Josh Murphy. “Our goal is to shine a light on the perseverance each of us are born with.”

HiBall Energy didn’t stop at a commitment to telling Korgan’s story. All proceeds from the film are being donated to High Fives Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of injury prevention and providing resources for those who have suffered from life-altering injuries.
