Leo Burnett Chicago Toasts the Mess Makers for Delta Faucet

By Erik Oster

Leo Burnett Chicago celebrates the messy side of the kitchen a new 30-second spot promoting the Delta Facuet Touch2O, entitled “Here’s to the Mess Makers.”

“To those who deliver dinner,” says the voiceover at the opening of the anthem ad, as a fisherman begins to prepare his catch, “and get dinner delivered,” it continues, going on to champion those “caked in flour,” “coated in dust” or even “covered in lava” from the archetypical grade school science experiment. “To all the beautiful mess makers,” the spot concludes, “keep it up: with Delta Touch2O technology, you can.”

While far from innovative, the approach spotlights the kinds of “mess makers” who would be attracted to the Touch20 technology, from serious home cooks and bakers to busy parents and professionals. It manages to make the faucet central to all the action without making it the sole focus of the conversation, instead focusing on what it can presumably help people accomplish and its take on messes is something anyone can relate to.
