LBi Issues ‘So Work Hot/Not’ Summer Attire Guide

By Kiran Aditham

We’re not sure if every agency has their own summer attire rules to apprise staff of what’s appropriate to wear in office this season, but at least LBi is making it a bit easier for its crew and hilarious for us in the process. An anonymous source forwarded a memo that was sent to LBi employees yesterday, complete with visual accompaniment that outlines what the agency is calling a “So Work Hot/Not Guide.” Well, we figured it’s our duty to share it with you just in case you’re completely clueless about proper duds or just want to hone your sartorial skills. Below, you’ll see the “Shoes” portion of LBi’s Work Hot/Not guide. After the jump, check out the memo verbatim followed by the rest of the  styling tips.  Yes, this was really sent.

Subject: Summer Office Attire

Good morning!

Yes, spring has most definitely arrived and the warm weather is here.   With that, there has been a fair amount of skin showing in the office. Now, we’re no prudes, but we do think that a gentle reminder is warranted since we are very much a business and we should all look/dress the part.

Your clothing choices are certainly a personal decision, and we’re not trying to squelch creativity.   All we ask is that you look in the mirror before you head to work and ask yourself, “What if I am called into a client meeting today – would this be appropriate?”

So, please think “head to toe” – this applies to both men and women.   Think business casual — not summer beach casual.   Think Havana -– not Panama City spring break.   You get the drift….

The So Work Hot/Not guide is attached.
