Kumho Tire, the ninth largest tire manufacturer in the world, selected JWT Atlanta as its agency of record for creative and strategic services after a competitive review.

JWT Atlanta’s experience working with automotive brands, including current clients Shell, Pennzoil and Quaker State, helped it secure the appointment, which marks the first new business win under new CEO Spence Kramer. He joined the agency back in March after serving as global managing director at CP+B.

The client, which is also based in Atlanta, has has worked with experiential agency Pearl Media and Arras Group in the past. Representatives declined to reveal the financial details of its relationship with JWT beyond stating that the contract is worth seven figures.

“Securing new business is a top priority for the office and we’re thrilled to partner with Kumho,” Kramer said in a statement, “not just because it’s a great brand with a world of potential, but also because we love supporting local businesses, large and small.”

“North America is the world’s largest tire market, and Kumho sees J. Walter Thompson Atlanta as the perfect partner to help elevate brand recognition and enhance customer relationships through effective engagements,” added Brian Gallagher, senior marketing manager, North America, Kumho Tire USA.
