Kash Sree has joined gyro New York as group creative director.
Sree has decades of experience in the advertising industry as a copywriter and creative director.
Back in 1997, he joined W+K Portland as a copywriter and worked on the agency’s Nike and Coca-Cola accounts for around five years. He left to accept a position as senior vice president, creative director with Leo Burnett Chicago in May of 2002, where he helped created the “Who Are You?” campaign for Nintendo. After four and a half years he moved on to a group creative director role at BBH New York, where he worked on a global repositioning campaign for Vaseline and also worked on Axe, British Airways, Levi’s and All detergent. After working as an executive creative director at JWT and Pereira & O’Dell, he joined SS+K as chief creative officer in 2011. At SS+K he worked with clients including Chevy, Kraft, Pfizer, and Subway. After just a year he left the agency.
“Kash is a great talent but, a year out, we all realized that our styles are different and best to part ways,” an agency spokesperson said at the time.
Sree told Fast Company that he was taking a break after his departure from SS+K, “because it was the hardest job I ever had.”
He added that he was contemplating opening his own agency or taking another job after a break but that he would “be a lot slower about choosing.”
