Kaplan Assumes ACD Post at Eleven

By Kiran Aditham

Joel Kaplan is heading from one San Francisco shop to another as the creative is leaving Pereira & O’Dell after nearly two years and taking on the title of associate creative director at Eleven, which counts clients including Apple, AAA and Virgin America (the agency just launched a new campaign for the last brand, in fact).

During his time at P&O’D, Kaplan served as a senior copywriter on the Corona, Captain Morgan (most recent work here) and the University of Phoenix accounts. Prior to Pereira, Kaplan had copywriting stints at AKQA, where he spent two years and was part of the Nike and Xbox teams (including the one involved with Halo 3), then joined CP+B and was involved with the Cannes Titanium-winning Burger King group that was responsible for Whopper Sacrifice. In his new ACD post at Eleven, Kaplan will report to co-founder/ECD Rob Price, who says of his new hire in a statement, “The first time I met Joel I came away thinking, this guy will never give me the expected answer to a creative challenge. Not in a million years. I love that.”
