JWT London recently launched “Break Claus,” a holiday spot for Kit Kat, featuring unexpected encounters with Santa Claus.
In the spot, jolly old Saint Nick makes his way around the city, dolling out breaks. That means, not only a moment with a Kit Kat bar, but Santa temporarily taking over for those working as janitors, receptionists, delivery workers and more.
It’s a simple premise that speaks to the heart of holiday giving, while also effortlessly tying itself to the brand, concluding with the tagline, “Have a break this Christmas.” Again, this is not a complicated message here, but rather a simple feel-good holiday tie-in for the brand. While some may see that as cheap and the resulting spot as cheesy, it’s also undeniably relatable. We’ve all had days when we could use a couple of minutes to rest and eat chocolate while someone else does our work for us, especially this time of year.
