Jess Monsey is returning to Wieden + Kennedy Portland as managing director following a short stint as 72andSunny New York’s president.

She’s replacing Karrelle Dixon, who is returning to London to pursue a career in education. Dixon has held various roles at Wieden + Kennedy since joining in 2006.

“I’m incredibly proud of what this office has accomplished and all the amazing people I’ve worked with along the way. After some quality time with my family, my plan is to take what I’ve learned from the best creative agency in this business and some of the most admired brands in the world, and inspire the next generation of youth in the U.K.,” Dixon said in a statement. “Education and teaching has always been a passion of mine and the time is right for me to use the power of creativity to influence school curriculums, inspire kids to live a creative life and empower them to believe they can realize their full potential.”

Prior to joining 72andSunny New York in 2018, Monsey spent more than 10 years at Wieden + Kennedy Portland, most recently as director of account service and group account director. While there, she led the team that pitched and won the KFC business, and also worked on Old Spice.

“It’s not easy to leave 72NY. The agency is loaded with opportunity, talent and great people,” Monsey said. “But I can’t pass up the chance to lead the agency that has defined so much of my career. W+K Portland is an incredibly special place, and I’m thrilled to be able to help grow its legacy and to continue making powerful creative work that people love to witness and be a part of.”
