International energy company E.ON appointed Publicis Groupe as its media and performance agency across Europe, following a review, effective as of January 2021.
The scope of the assignment includes full media duties across Germany, U.K., Italy, Sweden, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary and the Netherlands, as well as performance marketing in Germany and Sweden. Publicis Groupe will service the account across markets through a dedicated Power of One unit led by Starcom, with a central hub in Germany.
The review included participants from each of the five major holding companies, including the main incumbent on the account, Dentsu Aegis Network, according to a source with knowledge of the process.
The appointment expands on an existing relationship between Publicis Groupe and E.ON as Digitas was appointed experience agency of record for E.ON U.K. late last year, following a review, providing digital services including strategy, experience design, app vision and tech development. Digitas will continue to work with E.ON as part of Publicis Groupe’s custom team.
