Internal Memo: Zimmerman Advertising Founder, Interim CEO Jordan Zimmerman Sends Agency-Wide Email Addressing Return to Work Policy

By Erik Oster

Following news yesterday about Zimmerman Advertising remote employees being asked to return to the office as soon as possible, the top executive at the Ft. Lauderdale agency sent out an email assuring employees of a return to work policy in line with Omnicom’s guidelines which was obtained by AgencySpy.

The message follows a holding companywide memo from Omnicom CEO John Wren last Thursday commemorating Omnicom’s one year remote work anniversary, inviting employee feedback on a gradual return to offices and reiterating Omnicom guidance on returning to work.

Agency founder Jordan Zimmerman, who took on the interim CEO role when Michael Goldberg stepped down from the CEO role at Zimmerman last summer, sent a short agencywide email addressing the agency’s position on remote work in light of “recent postings to social media sites and reports made by some press outlets.”

Despite what some remote employees reported hearing in phone calls communicating an urgency to return to the office, Zimmerman reassured staff that the agency’s policy “requires employees to only return to the office if they are comfortable doing so,” and assuring employees the agency would continue to follow the guidance of its holding company.

Here’s the memo in full:

Agency Update

Zimmerman Team:

I am aware of several recent postings to social media sites and reports made by some press outlets regarding our policy on returning to the office. I want to make it clear to all of you that Zimmerman’s policy requires employees to only return to the office if they are comfortable doing so. This policy is consistent with guidance provided by Omnicom, and you have my assurance that we will continue to follow Omnicom guidance.

Please stay healthy and safe.
