Influencer Agency Takumi Acquires Media Buying Agency Unieed

By Kyle O'Brien

Influencer marketing, branding and social media platform Takumi is expanding its reach into the U.S. market, and to help with that expansion it has acquired Unieed, a content and strategic media-buying agency that specializes in content-driven campaigns working with leading outdoor and cycling brands.

The acquisition will expand Takumi’s global paid media offerings, as well as build out the paid media team in the agency’s London and New York offices.

“As we expand our presence in the U.S., we are ecstatic to join forces with Unieed, growing our paid media offerings to bring an evergreen portfolio of technology to our brand partners and influencers,” Mary Keane-Dawson, CEO at Takumi said in a statement.

To help with the U.S. growth plans, Takumi—which was named to the Adweek Reader’s Choice Best of Tech Partners Awards this year—has made several new leadership hires, including some from the newly acquired Unieed. Joe Adsett, founder and managing director of Unieed, and a Facebook Certified Media-Buying Professional, will now join Takumi as paid media director.

Other new hires include Kristy Engels as chief marketing officer; Sara Joy Madsen as managing director; Eric Martucci as managing partner; Allison Hunter as head of delivery; Grieg Swanson as associate client director; Matt Timko as account manager; and Sparkle Ramjohn as finance manager.
