ICF Next Goes Through Restructuring, Including Senior Leadership Departures

By Erik Oster

ICF Next, the agency network launched by consultancy ICF in December of 2018, has gone through a restructuring.

“While ICF Next grew overall in its first year, operating under a new structure has naturally revealed areas where we need to make new or different investments to stay ahead of constantly changing marketplace demands. Those changes do include a small number of reductions. It is always difficult to say goodbye to good people who’ve made positive and lasting contributions,” an ICF Next spokesperson said in a statement.

Sources with knowledge of ICF Next’s operations claim the restructuring impacted less than 1% of staff and included some senior leadership departures. At the time it was launched, ICF Next reportedly employed around 1,700.

ICF Next’s innovation department was among those impacted and chief growth and innovation officer Bryan Specht, senior partner Jeff Olson and senior partner, experience and innovation Rick Shaughnessy have all left the agency or are leaving this month to pursue other opportunities, sources told Adweek. News of Specht’s impending departure broke last month.
