HUGE Tapped for Comcast.com Duties

Philly-based giant and NBC Universal parent Comcast has appointed Brooklyn-based IPG-owned shop HUGE as its digital agency of record for Comcast.com. Yes, there is a Comcast.com, which currently lets you subscribe to its various Xfinity services, pay bills and watch paint dry. Hence, HUGE is stepping in to hopefully add customer experience initiatives across Comcast’s web, mobile and social platforms, and emerging technologies.

According to sources, the original pitch involved around nine agencies. Comcast.com SVP/GM John Williamson says HUGE stuck out, though, because their “experience in digital business and ecommerce across so many industries, and their focus on using design and technology to make life easier for people, is a great match for what we’re focused on at Comcast. Across all of our businesses, our customers expect the best, and so do we. We’re looking forward to putting them to work for our customers.” HUGE will service the Comcast.com account out of its Brooklyn HQ.

Meanwhile, Digitas still handles AOR duties for the cable operator in terms of acquisition marketing and other interactive duties.
