H&R Block Actor Slips Up About Their Super Bowl Ad

By Matt Van Hoven

Tina Dupuy, our west coast sista/Fishbowl LA blogger shared the following story with us. Tina, take it away.

A little bird told us that an actor in the H&R Block commercials was was taking interviews announcing that the spot he was in was going to air during the Super Bowl &#151 arguably ‘The Louvre’ of television commercials…if the Louvre was annual and aimed at selling swollen people more stuff to swill.

Anyway, the actor announces he’s going to be in said spot. Agency calls his agent, tells him to tell him to shut up. All press mentioning the spots mysteriously don’t cite actor guy at all.

Lid back on &#151 tight.

Then after all this – a different H&R Block commercial will air during the Super Bowl. The one sans actor guy.

Oops.

There’s a moral in this story…somewhere.

And the moral is &#151 H&R Block is a rip-off, especially if you have to file in multiple states. Go to a CPA, preferably one that gives a crap.
