Head of Martha Stewart Living Resigns

When Martha Stewart went to prison in 2004, she hired Susan Lyne to take the lead as president and CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Omnicom Inc. Today, the Wall Street Journal reports:

“The multimedia company is promoting President of Media Wenda Harris Millard and President of Merchandising Robin Marino to the positions of co-CEO. The company said Ms. Lyne will stay on in an advisory role to ensure a smooth transition and remain a director during that unspecified period.”

No word yet on where Lyne is heading, but after a stay with Stewart, probably somewhere tropical. I’ve heard horror stories from both upper management and lackies there, all who say working for Stewart is hellish. But when you’ve been to prison, it’s no surprise that no one likes you, eh?
