Havas London, Heathrow Airport Celebrates Coming Home as ‘The Best Gift of All’

Back in July, Havas London launched “The First Flight,” Heathrow Airport’s debut broadcast ad featuring the story of a 5-year-old girl’s first trip to the airport. Now the agency is back with a holiday effort for Heathrow Airport, taking a similarly cutesy approach.

“Coming Home for Christmas” shows two stuffed bears wandering around Heathrow Airport after getting off their flight. They get their (a tad too large for them to carry comfortably) bags, ride an escalator, take a quick bathroom break and more before finally meeting up with family. It’s all in service of the message that coming home for the holidays is “The best gift of all.”

Directed by Outsider Productions’ Dom&Nic, with animation from The Mill, the cute approach is set to the Chas & Dave song “I’m Going Back,” which seems to fit the ambling pace of the action. It was filmed over the course of three days at a fully-operational Heathrow Airport.

“Christmas is my favorite time of year at Heathrow. The airport is abuzz with families and friends reuniting for this special time of year,”  Heathrow Airport’s commercial director Jonathan Coen told Adweek. “We love the film and hope the bears’ journey through the airport captures that excitement you feel when walking through Heathrow arrivals into the arms of your loved ones at Christmas.”
