GYK Antler Hires Its New Director of Talent and Development Away From Getty Images

So here’s an unusual one: GYK Antler, an agency located out in the not-woods of Manchester, New Hampshire and Boston, didn’t just convince its newest employee to leave the rat farm we call New York City; it hired her away from the good stock photo folks at Getty Images.

Marian Spurrier joins the indie shop as director of talent and development, a newly created role. She will reportedly work with senior leadership to help develop the agency’s internal community “clarify strategy” and work on its “people-first approach.”

This is serious stuff: Spurrier majored in executive coaching at Columbia University’s Teachers College and formerly held a position in executive development at Eileen Fisher.

CEO Travis York said she’s “extremely well suited to galvanize our team to innovate and explore new ways of propelling our success both internally and with our clients,” adding that “Marian’s philosophy revolves around growth mindset, guiding us to continue evolving our high-performing employees and business; which aligns with GYK Antler’s Evergreen Philosophy.”

In case you don’t know the agency, they’ve worked with ESPN, Harpoon Brewery, PayPal and Sweet Baby Ray’s. Here’s their reel, which features both Big Papi and Timberlake in the first three seconds.
