Greg Campana Out at Wray Ward

By Kiran Aditham

If you’re not familiar with Wray Ward (formerly Wray Ward Laseter), one tipster boasts that it’s “Charlotte NC’s largest shop” and now, the 25-year-old operation has lost one of its co-owners. If his LinkedIn wasn’t enough to confirm the matter, a phone call cemented the fact that owner and EVP, director of client services Greg Campana is no longer with WW. Spies say that Campana, who had been with Wray Ward for over 12 years and owned approximately 50% of the agency, left just recently. Campana had shared ownership of WW with Jennifer Appleby, who has been with the agency for nearly 20 years and is currently serving as president, chief creative director.

We can’t say at this point if his departure was amicable or not, but we Googled “Greg Campana Wray Ward” and the top item that came up was an agency blog post of his that dates back to Oct. 17. When we clicked on it, though, the post was nonexistent as was anything Greg Campana-related on the blog. Out of sight, out of mind, we suppose? We’re trying to find out if Campana, who’s held account exec jobs at the Ogilvy, McKinney and Disney during his career, had to surrender all of his ownership stake in Wray Ward upon leaving. Now we’re just left to wonder, in terms of “Charlotte NC’s largest shop,” where does BooneOakley rank in all of this?
