Google Makes a Play for the Indie Rock Market

Google flaunts its search capabilities in a new spot that’s centered on Brooklyn-based band The National. Rather than just use the band’s track “Apartment Story” as the soundtrack, Google flips the script somewhat and takes us into lyrics and tour dates search, Google Maps directions to reach the band’s show in Hollywood, the band’s video on YouTube and the upload of the actual National concert experience to the video streaming site. Meanwhile, the Mountain Valley, CA giant also utilized electronic artist Dan Deacon’s music for a new Chrome browser ad (below). Your move, Radio Shack.
