GM’s Top Ad Exec Heads for Zee Hills

GM president/CEO Fritz Henderson announced this morning that the automaker’s sales/marketing chief Mark LaNeve will be leaving his post effective October 15th for a job outside the auto industry.

The LA Times reports that GM might be looking to replace LaNeve with someone outside the company. According to AdAge, LaNeve’s departure was pretty much imminent when GM moved him in July from to VP,sales from VP, sales, service and marketing in North America. Well, at least the company has the “May the Best Car Win” campaign to fall back on for now.
